Weathering the Etsy Storms
Wisconsin weather these past 4 weeks has been all over the place.
Temps have ranged from -12 up to 48 this past month. So knowing how to dress for the day can get tricky. 🩴 🧣 🤷🏻♀️
Looking outside this morning and seeing the sun, my daughter was sure it was a short-sleeve tee + vest kind of a day.
I had to stop her at the door and tell her it was 29 degree outside so she needed to bundle up before heading to school.
She didn’t know what was ahead of her, but because I already went outside to take out the dog, I knew it was a cold one.
The Wrong Way to Weather Any Storm
As your Etsy coach, I want to prepare you and your new business to weather the “Etsy storms”.
I’ve heard others say that in order to succeed, you have to create items tailored to the latest trends.
Others tell you that you will succeed once you have “X” number of items in your shop.
But, hese 2 approaches don’t help you create a shop with a sturdy foundation that will bring in sales. No matter what the season.
Sure, these tactics might bring in occasional sales. But they’ll ultimately require constant creation of new items in order to stay current to the latest trend.
But There’s a Better Way!
I believe the key to true success on Etsy comes when you discover an under-served niche and create high-quality items that fill a need inside that niche.
What do I mean by that?
