4 Ways to Increase Your Etsy Sales TODAY!

Are you waiting for your Etsy shop to start bringing in the sales but it’s just not happening? Here are 4 ways to increase your Etsy sales today!

Organized and beautiful workspace with computer, plant, and coffee to help create a clear and focused mind.

There are over 7.5 million sellers on Etsy and that number keeps climbing. It is one of the most user friendly platforms available for creatives and entrepreneurs to sell their craft. As a seller on Etsy, it is your job to stand out among all of the other shops on the platform.

We will walk through 4 simple ways so stand out amongst the other sellers on Etsy. Your items will be listed right along side thousands of others and once you have someones attention, you want to make sure to keep it and turn it into a sale. There is no better way to do that than by letting them know all the things about you and your shop.

1. Fill in Shop Info & Appearance Section

Here is where your shop banner and icon make all the difference.

When your shop looks professional and put together you automatically gain the trust of a new shopper. A beautiful shop banner and icon image tells your customer that you have high standards for your shop and the products you sell. Making a shop banner and having a shop icon will increase your credibility and in turn will boost your potential of having more sale.

You can quickly create a banner in Canva or size down an image of an item you would like to feature. Use a photo of yourself, a top selling product, or a logo for the shop icon. Just make sure that whatever image or graphic you use is brightly lit and sized appropriately for the banner or shop icon.

2. Tell Your Story

You have a specific reason for why you opened your shop on Etsy, and your customers want to hear it! You can find the “About Your Shop” section inside the “Settings” section under “Shop Manager.” This is where you can let your customers get to know you and your shop story.

Include details about why you started your shop, the process behind the products in you sell, and give customers a behind the scenes look at your shop and your creative process.

Click on the “Story” tab. This is where you can tell the story of your shop and how it came to be. Include details about your family, faith, and any other info that will give your customer a look at who you are and how your shop started.

My favorite part under the “Story” tab is the video section. Here you can give your customer a deeper look into your creation process, your studio space, and who you are as the creator of your products. Don’t feel like your space has to be perfectly clean, but if your space is a hot mess, make sure it looks organized. You want the video to showcase you and your work space so people can feel even more connected to you and the product you craft. Adding video that shows you working in your studio allows your customer to feel a part of what you are doing in a real way.

3. Connect Your Shop to Facebook

Once you have customers on Etsy or people who visit your shop, you want to have a way to connect with them and keep them in your circle. Giving them access to your business Facebook group or non-Etsy platform is a great way for you to go deeper with your customer.

If you do not yet have a Facebook page for your shop, take some time to set one up and add some posts to that feed. It does not take long to open a new page or group, but when your potential customer sees that you have your shop in more than one place they will be more willing to trust you and place an order with your shop.

4. Introduce Your Shop Members

Under the “settings” section of your shop you will find a section called “About Your Shop”. This is where you have space to introduce the members of your shop, even if you are filling all the roles yourself (which many Etsy shop owners are).

Include as many details as possible to let your personality shine! Write about your family, faith, role in the shop, and other personal details to give your potential customer a view into who you are. Let them see as much as you feel comfortable with so they know who they will be supporting when they make a purchase from your shop.

Why do these things matter?

Etsy shoppers are different from your average online buyer. They are looking to directly support people and their small businesses. If you leave out the details about who you are and what your company is all about, you are leaving a huge gap for your customer.

Let shoppers see the “behind the scenes” of your company and why purchasing from you is the right move. Allow your customers to get to know you and give them a clear reason to spend their hard earned money on your products.

When your customer feels a connection to you and wants to be a part of what you are doing, they will order again and again to support you and your business! Take the extra steps to tell your shoppers who you are so they can become brand fans. Not only will they purchase from you over and over, they will talk about your shop to friends and family which will lead to more and more sales. Before you know it, you will see great success in your Etsy business!

Can’t wait to hear how this helps you grow your Etsy sales this week!

Keep Making!
